I have two unmentioned suggestions for you, one is a successor to the D'deridex, the other is a preceding line. But it's more suitable to a torp/minelayer build than something traditional.

Oh, and the Vastam is not bad either with a platinum vanity cloak. It's a viable Romulan alternative to the Gagarin or Qugh if you want a MW twist on the classic beamboat.

It's a big pokey cruiser, a full miracle worker (13 consoles with x-upgrade!) and basically indestructible. If you're looking at a hull to fly then also look at the Tebok. Not leaning into pets is not a viable option for the support carriers, IMO.

Also, leaning into pets requires a massive resource investment to perform like midrange beam or projectile boats (SAD is 80 million, scramble fighters is 300-500 million, etc etc). It's just 'okay' at best, definitely not one of the top science carriers like the JHVC and leagues away from the flight deck carriers like the Suliban Silik (available as a fleet ship). On the downside you get only 4 boff seats, and they're rather uninspiring. The fleet version has an enormous pile of hit points. And those stats suggest not turning, ever. It's bigger, bulkier, and somehow feels even less agile than its stats suggest. If you don't like the brick-like handing of the double D you'll have a bad time with the Ra'nodaire. It's not a top tier EPG ship, but it's very usable. Laeosa is a very sexy beast, but you will also need the Spore Infused Anomalies trait (at a minimum) to make that bird truly shine. I have the fleet support carriers and Laeosa, among a multitude of other ships.
